Mother's Day . . .

Monday, May 9, 2011

Three generations :)

It turned out to be a beautiful day here in Seattle, even though our usual rain was in the forecast. I spent the weekend with the kids at the farm. My Dad was discharged from rehab earlier in the week so it was a very special day. I feel blessed beyond words he is here. Things could of been very different this Mothers Day.

GOD does answer prayers!

Our weekend was bittersweet. On Saturday we attended my uncle's funeral, he died of complications from diabetes and kidney failure. Basically he was just tired and didn't want to be on dialysis anymore, 3 days later he was gone. Lou was a 2 X's war veteran, both the Korean War and Vietnam. He was a pastor for years and married most of our cousins and baptized all of their children. He was an amazing man, husband of 61 years and a father to 3 girls. Not an easy day for any of us.

Probably the only time I get a picture taken with all my kiddos!

Thankfully Jack had a really good weekend, A few stomach aches but at least he didn't sleep all day.  Although I knew Monday would be very different. Like a lot of Mito kids, his body needs a day or two to catch up after an active day or weekend.

I never run out of great places to shoot on the farm. Theres always an old truck, tractor or trailer around! (or porta-potty!)

The boys played outside all day with their cousin, MORE war games!

Ahhhh, another prisoner!

I must guard the Fort!

The kids played a good game of capture the flag,
too funny to see Jack trying to guard the flag :) Nice moves!

GUMBY BOY.

UH-OH, Jacks sporting his fine posture again!
He gets this way when he's fatigued.

Emily, just 3 months older than Jack. She's definitely a TomBoy!

Easton is looking so much older these days,
almost as tall as me now. It's High School in the fall, sigh.

What can I say, he's my cuddler :)

A beautiful evening, a great way to end the day...

well anything above 45 degrees is considered a beautiful day in our parts!

(more later on the medical front, I wanted this one to end happy and positive :)

Praying you all had
a wonderful day with your kiddos.

Honestly, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of
all the BRAVE little ones and their AMAZING Mito ma-ma's
Ive met over the years...you're always in my prayers.
