Wind, snow, you name it! It was LIGHTS out at our house and it wasnt pretty. Over 24 hours of darkness and we were all going crazy, not to mention freezing! We had a big snow storm that hit Washington last month, resulting in over 200,000 homes without power, some were in the dark for 5 days or more! We were thankful we had our gas fireplace and gas stove top to keep us alive in the mean time. (alive, sounds tragic ;p) we were the lucky ones, at least we got ours back sooner. Jacks feeding pumps were charged enough and he could skip a night without his O2.
(our temporary fridge!)
It also went out the next night with the following wind storm, but just overnight. I was glad because after just restocking the fridge, I was sure hoping we wouldnt be needing to throw out even more food!
As bad as it seemed at the time, without our daily comforts, I admit, we also had some family fun. Jeff decided to take off a few days from work, so it was nice to have this time together. We had a dance off, mainly Logan doing all the entertaining :) and we also told some "yo ma-ma" jokes to pass the time. Just some good old fashion family memories made.
This was when it first started to fall, 3am. I know, "parent fail"
but he couldnt sleep and who was I to deny him this moment :)
so I took out the iPhone and got some pics.
only lasting minutes until he decided it was too cold!
I know Ive been absent here and need to update on some important new
changes for Jack, its to come... but these were too good not to share.
Here's some fun photos of our couple good snow days :)
The start of our special snowman :)
A kiss before he gets the green food coloring!
Jack wasnt so lucky coming down the hill on his first run
with the sled, he hit his head on the tree :( OUCH.
Our Logan :) born to entertain us!
Jack found a tree branch that fell and was all frozen,
he thought that was cool ;p
Daddys girl.
Senna getting in the mood for a snowball fight!
she just gets prettier everyday :)
Mya may not be liking the sledding too much.
Boys will be boys.
Peering out of the snow fort!
We spent part of the afternoon removing the snow off the hedges,
that was probably the most fun the Kids have had all week!
Easton :)
Thats as close as he got!
Im cccold mom.
There's my sweet boys smile :)
Nice to have you home Daddy.
an incredibly beautiful day.
Now thats a lot of snow!
Playing in this stuff is even more fun at night!
Our poor trampoline didnt do too well in the windy weather :(
looks like we'll need a new net.
It was fun while it lasted.

What FUN and AMAZING pictures!!! I love them so much...we had a power outage overnight here not that long ago (but it was fall in southern california--so no freeaing here!) and we did so many fun "old-fashioned" things that Gavin will still say "I wish the power would go out again!". I think we should have a planned power outage once a month where we pretend the lights are out...our kids did shows for us...we played games...no tv, no anything electrical...it was FUN. So glad you got to enjoy the snow as a family...the pictures warm my heart for you all! : )
Hugs...
Beautiful pictures!! I love the snow and everything that goes with it. I live in the Canadian north, so we get a lot of snow and power outages. Unfortunately this year we just haven't had enough snow.
Praying and praying for Jack!!
